Some days I wonder whether I've stepped off the earth and onto a strange planet, into a place where hours become days and we are all twenty years late for the next planned event.

Today is not today... today is a series of todays, all lined up, waiting to happen to us, one by one, each in its turn, never to be reconciled.

Today I must stand at the edge, look out over the prehistoric valley and watch the rain wash yesterdays past me in the wake of unrelenting storm.

Just over the trees... there, in the distance, there is a tiny break in the clouds.
